GENERIC NAME(S): Losartan-Hydrochlorothiazide

Uses

This drug is used to treat high blood pressure. It is also used to reduce the risk of stroke in high blood pressure and enlarged heart patients. Reducing hypertension helps in preventing stroke, heart attack and kidney problems. This product includes two drugs: Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. Lawrence is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and works by resting blood vessels so that the blood can flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is a “water pills” (diuretic) which causes you to make more urine, which helps your body get rid of excess salt and water.

How to use a Hyzaar

If you start taking a Losartan / Hydrochlorothiazide from your pharmacist and you get a refill each time, read the details of the patient’s information. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take Hyzaar guided by your doctor, usually once daily or without food. If this medicine causes you to urinate more frequently, it is best to take it at least 4 hours before your sleeping so that you can get ready to urinate.
If you consume some medicines to reduce your cholesterol (bile acid-binding resins such as cholestyramine or colestipol), then take at least 4 hours before these medications or at least 4 to 6 hours prior to taking the losartan / Hydrochlorothiazide.

Side Effects

Precautions

Before taking Hyzaar, tell your doctor or pharmacist whether you are allergic to Losartan / Hydrochlorothiazide; Or if you have any other allergens. This product can have passive elements, which can cause allergic or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using Hyzaar, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially: severe damage (dehydration) of gout, kidney disease, liver disease, lupus, body type and minerals, skin cancer .

Hyzaar can make you more sensitive to the sun. It can also increase your risk for skin cancer, especially if you take it for a long time. Keep your time limited in the sun.
