Lozol Oral : Uses, Side Effects, Interactions


Lozol Tablet

GENERIC NAME(S): Indapamide

Uses

Indapamide, sold under the trade name Lozol among others. This drug is used to treat high blood pressure. Lozol is also used to reduce excess fluid in the body (edema) due to heart failure. Reducing hypertension helps in preventing stroke, heart attack and kidney problems. Lozol is related to a class of drugs called diuretic / “water tablets”. It works to make you more urine. It helps your body get rid of excess salt and water. This can reduce the symptoms of breathing or swelling in your ankles or feet.

How To Use Lozol

Take Lozol or Indapamide with or without mouth directed by your doctor, usually once in the morning. If you take this medicine close to the time of sleep, you may have to wake up to urinate. It is best to take this medicine at least 4 hours before your sleep.
Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response.
Take this medication regularly so that it can get the most benefit. To help you remember, take it at the same time every day. Keep taking this medication even if you feel OK. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick. It may take several weeks for you to get the full benefit of this drug.
If you take some medicines (bile acid-binding resins such as cholestyramine or colestipol)  to reduce your cholesterol, then take Lozol at least 4 hours before or at least 4 hours after these medications.
Tell your doctor if your condition is not better or if it gets worse (your blood pressure readings are high or increased).

Side Effects

Dizziness or headache can occur. If any of these effects gets worse or worse, then tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this drug because he or she has decided that the benefit is higher than the risk of side effects. Many people using this drug do not have serious side effects.

Lozol can cause too much body water (dehydration) and loss of salt / minerals. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any symptoms of dehydration or mineral loss, including: excessive thirst, very dry mouth, muscle spasms / weakness, fast / irregular heartbeat, confusion, decrease in urine.
Tell your doctor immediately if you have a serious side effect, including: decrease in vision, pain in the eye.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, if you see symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, get medical help immediately, including: granular, itching / swelling (especially the face / tongue / throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

Precautions

Before taking Lozol or Indapamide, tell your doctor or pharmacist whether you are allergic to it; Or if you have any other allergens. This product can have passive elements, which can cause allergic or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using Lozol, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, in particular: diabetes, arthritis, kidney problems, liver disease, lupus
Lozol can make you dizzy. Alcohol or marijuana (cannabis) can make you feel more dizzy. Unless you can safely do it, do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that requires caution. Limit alcoholic beverages. Talk to your doctor if you are using marijuana (cannabis).
Severe sweating, diarrhea, or vomiting can increase the risk for serious damage to body water (dehydration). Give long-term diarrhea or vomiting report to your doctor. To prevent dehydration, drink lots of fluids unless your doctor directs you otherwise.

If you have diabetes, this product may increase your blood glucose. Regularly check your blood glucose as directed and share the result with your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if you have symptoms of high blood sugar such as thirst / urination. Your doctor may need to adjust your diabetes medication, exercise program or diet.
Lozol can reduce potassium levels in your blood. Before using potassium-rich potassium supplements or salt substitutes, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Lozol can make you more sensitive to the sun. Keep your time limited in the sun. Avoid Tanning Booths and sunlamps. Use sunscreen on the outside and wear protective clothing. Tell your doctor immediately if you have sunburned or have blisters / redness on the skin.
Before surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products that you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs and herbal products).
During pregnancy, this drug should be used only when it is clearly necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
It is unknown if this medicine passes in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Over Dose

If someone is treated and has serious symptoms like having trouble going out or breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call the Poison Control Center immediately. US residents can call their local venom control center at 1-800-222-1222. Canadians can call a provincial poison control center.

Do not share this medication with others.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, then as soon as you remember, take it. If it is near the next dose time, then leave the thesis dose. Take your next dose at regular times. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets.
