Uses

Gemfibrozil is used to help with low-fat (triglycerides) as well as proper diet and enhances “good” cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It can also help to reduce “bad” cholesterol (LDL). Gemfibrozil is related to a group of drugs called “fibrates”. It works by reducing the amount of fat produced by liver. Reducing triglycerides in people with very high triglyceride blood levels can also reduce the risk of pancreatitis (pancreatitis). However, the risk of heart attack or stroke from gemfibrozil may not be reduced. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of Gemfibrozil.
Apart from eating a proper diet (such as low cholesterol / low fat diet), other lifestyle changes that can help this drug work better, exercise in it, drink less alcohol, lose weight if overweight And prevention of smoking is involved.

How to use Gemfibrozil

Side effects

Precautions
