Clotrimoxazole Uses

Clotrimoxazole is used for the treatment, control, prevention, and the improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
•  Malaria
•  Bacterial infections
•  Urinary tract infections
•  Pneumonia of pneumonia in AIDS
•  Clotrimoxazole can also be used for those purposes not listed here.

Clotrimoxazole Side Effects

The following is a list of possible side effects that may occur in cloturoxogenic drugs. This is not a comprehensive list. These side effects are possible but are not always there. Some side effects can be rare but serious. If you see any of the following side effects, especially if they do not go away, consult your doctor.

•  Fever

•  Neutropenia
•  Anemia

Interaction with Clotrimoxazole

If you use it on other medicines or counter products at the same time, then the effects of Clotrimoxazole can change. This can increase your risk for side effects or your drug may not work properly. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements you are using, so that you can help doctors prevent or manage the interactions of medicines. Clotrimoxazole can interact with the following medicines and products:
•  Cyclosporine
•  Oral contraceptives with estrogen
•  Anti Folate
•  Methotrexate
•  Antidiabetic agent
•  Bone marrow depressant
